This article is for the laptop users, who are having trouble setting up the keyboard backlight off by default while restarting or turning on the PC. Following are the steps to control the keyboard backlight setting on the laptops.

1) Search for the Windows Mobility Center in the search box of  the taskbar and go to Windows Mobility Center.

2) Here you can find the Keyboard Brightness section. Now if you just want to control the keyboard brightness then slide the slider from left to right(INCREASE BRIGHTNESS) or from right to left(DECREASE BRIGHTNESS). But the changes you make here will be lost on next restart. So, if you want the settings to remain permanently, you have to click on the Keyboard icon as shown below.

3)Once you click the icon, you will be taken to below screen.

Here you can set the Keyboard brightness like Off, Dim or Bright. Also let the Ambient Light sensor determine the keyboard backlighting and set time at which keyboard backlight will turn off when there is no activity. The changes made here will also remain on the next restart.
